A game called Minecraft has gotten a lot of attention recently. Some weeks ago i saw a tweet about a 16 bit ALU in Minecraft, but I didn’t know what Minecraft was, so I didn’t check it out. It wasn’t until today I looked up what Minecraft really is, because it keept coming posts (toperchris, jacob, david) from the Tumblr crew about it. And apparently Valve is playing it.
Minecraft isn’t brand new, it’s been around since beginning of last summer. I have only tested the free classic version for some minutes. What got me fascinated is that Minecraft is developed by one person.
And that he has sold 377391 copies of the game (until now) for 9.95 euro each. That’s over 34 million Swedish kronor. Impressive.
